Trinity’s Alex Rodriguez Named NESCAC Baseball Co-Rookie of the Year

Trinity College freshman Alex Rodriguez (South Windsor, Conn.) has been named New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) Baseball Co-Rookie of the Year, as announced by the league office. Rodriguez also lands on the All-NESCAC First Team. Trinity, led by Head Coach Bryan Adamski (4th season), wrapped up the spring with a 22-14 overall record and a 5-7 mark in NESCAC East Division play.

Rodriguez is the third Bantam to garner the NESCAC Rookie of the Year honor, joining Sean Meekins (2012) and Kent Graham (2007). Rodriguez batted .342 and slugged .465 while scoring 21 runs and registering eight doubles, three triples, and 23 runs batted in. He committed just two errors in 182 total chances behind the dish while throwing out eight would-be base stealers in 33 games. A graduate of South Windsor High School, he is the son of Rafael Rodriguez Jr. and Teresa Walker.
