Eastern Connecticut Boys Soccer Star Emmanuel Caicedo Receives Numerous Honors

Eastern Connecticut men’s soccer player Emmanuel Caicedo was recently honored for his excellent play this past season. Caicedo, a senior defenseman who starred for Manchester High School, was named to the College Sports Information Directors of America Division III Academic All-District 2 Team, and will participate in the New England Intercollegiate Soccer League Division III Senior All-Star Game. The game is scheduled for Sunday, December 4th at Brandeis University.

Caicedo served as a captain for the second consecutive season for Eastern and was named the  Little East Conference Defensive Player of the Year and First Team All-LEC. He started every game and led the Warriors in overall and average minutes. Caicedo also led them in goals with five and was second in points with 10.

Caicedo currently has an overall grade point average of 3.81 and is a Health Sciences major concentrating in Pre-Nursing. He serves as Student Athletic Advisory Committee Co-President, participated in the NCAA Career in Sports Forum and is a member of the Chi alpha Sigma National College Athlete Honor Society.  He serves as a research assistant at Hartford Hospital and was a physical therapy intern last summer and has volunteered with the Windham Special Olympics and Covenant Soup Kitchen in Willimantic and as a coordinator of the Be The Match bone marrow drive.
