How do you prepare before a game? Right before the start of every game we have a pep talk in the middle of the field to get ourselves ready to play. I also like to listen to music.

What are you most looking forward to in regard to your fall season? Winning the State Championship; it would be the perfect way to end my high school soccer career.

What has been your biggest highlight to date in your high school uniform? Beating Nonnewaug in penalty kicks on Wednesday, I think that has definitely been the highlight. We played a great game against a much higher seeded team and I think we really deserved to win. It was also nice to finally make it past the second round of states. Our team this year is like a family and I can’t think of a better group of girls to have experienced the win with.

Who has been your biggest sports influence? I’ve been fortunate enough to have great coaches throughout all of my years of playing, but I think I would have to say that my two most recent coaches, Melissa Morgan Hostetler and David LaPorte, have had the biggest impact on me. They are two of the most hardcore and determined people I know and I’m eternally grateful to have had them both as my coaches. They have pushed me and the rest of our team to work harder than we thought we could and in turn be better than we ever thought was possible. They both taught me that anything is possible if you’re willing to go the distance.

Who is your favorite pro or college athlete? Alex Morgan as well as the entire US Women’s National Soccer Team is probably my favorite. I think what they have done for girls in sports is astounding and their continued dominance in the Women’s World Cup every four years serves as a true source of inspiration for athletes everywhere.

What are your plans beyond high school? I plan on attending college to study Finance and pursue a Master’s Degree. I want to go to a big school, but I plan on still playing soccer at a lower Club or Intramural level.
