Spotlight: McKenzie Maneggia

Academic accomplishments:

I have received at least honors every single quarter in high school. Last year I took AP English, and this year I am taking AP Statistics, AP Psychology, and Honors English.

Athletic accomplishments:

State Champion my sophomore year

All Conference, 2nd team All-state, Team MVP, and Conference Champs my junior year

How I prepare for a game:

I don’t have any specific pregame rituals, I just put on my uniform and go play.

Most exciting moment of this past season:

Even though we are only about two weeks into the season, I am very excited about the team chemistry we have this year. We have a group of young, hardworking individuals who excel together as a unified team.

Most memorable moment as a high school athlete:

The most memorable moment for me was when RHAM became Class L State Champions. I worked very hard my sophomore year to earn my spot on the court, so to see all of that hard work pay off and to see my teammates and myself win a State Championship, one of the highest team accomplishments for any high school athlete, was truly sensational and memorable.

Favorite pro or college athlete:

My favorite collegiate athlete is Micha Hancock, the Penn State setter. She won a D1 national title and is nasty. She has a wicked jump topspin serve and is always aggressive on the net when she is setting. She is one of the best offensive setters I have ever watched.

College plans:

I am hoping to play volleyball in college and achieve an undergraduate degree in Health Sciences and then go on for my doctorate in Physical Therapy. I love working with the body and helping others, so to continue on to have my career working to rehabilitate people would be perfect.
