Spotlight: Kaitlin Bakas

Kaitlin is a senior runner for South Windsor who excels in cross country and indoor and outdoor track. She was been named All-State and a Hartford Marathon Foundation Scholar Athlete. She is also a high honors student.

How I prepare for a meet: Before every race my team gets together and we have a pasta party. I always hydrate and mentally visualize my race before I line up.

What I am most looking forward to: I am looking forward to improving each race and enjoying my last season of high school cross country with my team and coaches.

Biggest highlight in my high school uniform: Running my PR in the mile at the State Open meet.

Biggest sports influence: My coach, Clint Bowman for all the years of great advice and mentoring me throughout each season.

Who is your favorite pro or college athlete: Shannon Rowbury.

What are your plans beyond high school: To continue running in college.
