College Corner South Edition

A trio of local soccer players have led the Eastern Connecticut men’s team to a 6-0 start.

Former RHAM stars Cooper D’Ambrosio and Xavier Doran have served as two of the Warriors top offensive players. The duo each has five points. D’Ambrosio, a senior, has scored two goals, including the game-winner against Wesleyan, and earned one assist. Doran, a sophomore, has two assists and one goal.

Meanwhile, freshman starting goalie Ryan Murphy has wasted no time establishing himself. The Cromwell native has recorded shutouts against Muhlenberg, Wesleyan and Ramapo. Murphy has allowed just two goals overall.

Laura Smolinski

Smolinski is having another outstanding season for Colby-Sawyer volleyball. The senior setter, who starred at RHAM, is leading the Chargers in assists with 326, and her 98 digs places her fourth on the team. Smolinski had 41 assists in the team’s season-opening win against Lasell.
