Ellington Has New Girls Soccer Coach

With one day to spare before the official start of practice, the Ellington High School girls soccer team has a new coach.  David LaPorte has been tapped to replace Melissa Morgan-Hostetler who resigned earlier this month.

LaPorte comes in with previous varsity coaching experience, having coached the boys team at Parish Hill-Chaplin and the girls team at Rockville  High School back in the mid-1990’s. LaPorte’s most recent coaching stint was as a JV coach at Bolton from 2012-13.

“I’m really excited to have him,” said Ellington High athletic director Tim McCluskey. “I think he brings experience and passion and is going to keep the program heading in the right direction.”

Ellington begins practice on Thursday and opens the season with a home game against NCCC rival Enfield on September 11.
