East Windsor SAM: Shea Gelsomino

Shea is a senior basketball and baseball player at East Windsor High School. He was varsity basketball’s most improved player as a sophomore, and team captain as a senior. In the classroom, he made the honor roll all quarters all four years, was a scholar-athlete all four years, Spanish student of the year and received a Positive Panther Award.                                                                                

How do you prepare before a game? I usually listen to music on the bus for away games. For home games I like to warm up and stretch by myself prior to the team workout to clear my mind.

What are you most looking forward to in regard to your spring season? I am looking forward to playing my senior year with the other three seniors and creating a bond together, as well as teaching the younger teammates knowledge of the game.

What has been your biggest highlight to date in your high school uniform? Going 19-1 in the regular season for basketball my junior year and winning the NCCC tournament.

Who has been your biggest sports influence? My dad. He motivates me to always try my hardest, and gives me helpful advice.

Who is your favorite pro or college athlete? LeBron James and David Wright.

What are your plans beyond high school? I plan to major in Athletic Training at Quinnipiac University and continue to play intramural and club sports.
