Annika has achieved high honor roll every quarter for the past three years and is a National Merit Scholarship commended student. She has been a scholar athlete every season and is captain of the cheerleading team.
How Annika prepares for a game: I make sure to get a good night’s sleep the night before a game and I drink a lot of water during the day. That way, I am hydrated and have enough energy to put my best foot forward.
What Annika is most excited about for this season: I am excited to grow closer to my teammates throughout the season and to enjoy my last season as an EHS Knight.
Annika’s most memorable moment as a high school athlete: My most memorable moment as a Knight was this past winter when the cheerleading team won first place for the sixth consecutive time at the NCCC competition.
What Annika hopes to accomplish this season: I hope to make personal improvements to my stick skills this season and to be a positive and helpful member of the team.
Annika’s favorite professional athlete: My favorite professional athlete is Bethany Hamilton. I think she is an inspirational person because even when faced with extreme adversity, she pushed herself to be the best she could be.
Annika’s college plans: I plan to study food science at Clemson University.
