Three area girls basketball teams moved into their respective quarterfinals after posting victories in second-round state tournament play Friday night.

South Windsor, the top seed in Class LL, crushed CCC North rival Glastonbury, 72-41 for its third victory of the year over the No. 17 Tomahawks. The Bobcats will play at home Tuesday at 7 p.m. against the winner of Saturday’s Greenwich/Ridgefield matchup.

Fourth-seeded Cromwell stomped No. 13 Stonington, 66-38 to earn its way to the Class M quarterfinals. The Panthers will host No. 12 Waterford Tuesday at 7 p.m.

Enfield, seeded 10th in Class M, took to the road and easily defeated No. 7 Lewis Mills, 54-30. The Raiders travel to Waterbury to tangle with second-seeded Holy Cross Tuesday at 7:45 p.m.

Also in Class M, No. 6 Suffield was upset at home by No. 11 St. Joseph, 63-45. No. 12 RHAM also fell in its Class L game at No. 5 Daniel Hand, 56-46. Alyssa Hansen led the Sachems with 14 points, and Maresa Catenzaro scored 11.
