Top Performers of the Week

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Aex Goslin, South Windsor: The junior guard had 26 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals in a win at Weaver, and 19 points, 3 steals and 2 assists in a win against Wethersfield. Her performances helped the Bobcats remain undefeated at 17-0.

Mary Baskerville, Enfield: The freshman forward scored 18 points and grabbed 8 rebounds in a win against East Windsor. Baskerville helped the Raiders improve to 12-5. 

Lia Baroncini, RHAM: The freshman guard scored 17 points, including eight free throws, in a win at E.O. Smith.

Megan Hasty, Rockville: The sophomore had 16 points and drained 12 free throws in a close win against RHAM.  

BOYS BASKETBALL

Nate Laszewski, Avon: The sophomore guard starred on offense in three wins. He had 42 points against Suffield in an overtime triumph, 20 against Coventry and 17 at Classical Magnet. Laszewski helped the streaking Falcons improve to 11-4.

Nick Casiano, Rocky Hill: The sophomore scored 31 points in a blowout win over Fermi and 26 in a loss at Weaver.

Jeff Czapla, South Windsor: The senior scored 27 points against Fermi and 15 at Wethersfield in wins. His performance helped the Bobcats improve to 9-5.

Joe Tamburro, South Windsor: The senior served as an outstanding running mate to Czapla, scoring 28 points-25 in the second half-against Wethersfield and 14 against Fermi.

HOCKEY

Peter and Nick Mayer, E.O. Smith-Tolland: The brothers, both forwards, scored two goals each in a 9-1 win at Newtown. The victory improved the team’s record to 11-1.

Brian Riley, Fermi-Enfield-East Granby-Stafford: The senior scored in the final minute to give the Falcons a 1-0 win at Tri-Town and scored twice in a blowout win against Rockville-Bolton-Coventry-RHAM.

Austin Rupp, Suffield-Granby-Windsor Locks: The sophomore scored twice in a 4-3 overtime win against Housatonic-Northwestern-Wamogo.       

Tyler Maclean, Glastonbury: The senior scored twice in a 5-0 win at Farmington/Avon/Windsor, helping the Tomahawks improve to 10-3-1.
