News from the Tolland Recreation Department

Hello Everyone,

How can it be July already?

Crandall Pond is open for lessons and free swim. Call the Recreation Office at 860-871-3610 for information on lessons. There is a per person fee for weekend swimming. Beach passes are available for residents.

Check us out online for a complete listing of all the things we are offering this summer. Go to, under parks and recreation, and brochures. Also while you are there, check out the over 300 online programs we offer. They cover a wide range of topics and skills which may prove helpful in today’s ever changing job market.

We still have room in some of our camps, including the Crandall Day Camp, the ever popular Scott Curtis Wiffle ball camp, and others. Don’t wait till the last minute and take a chance on not getting in.

Mark Sunday, Aug. 10 on your fun things to do calendar. From 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. at Crandall Park, we will be holding our Sundae in the Park event. Buy an ice cream sundae for $2 and enjoy some free musical entertainment under the pavilion.

While you’re at it, also save the date Saturday, Sept. 20, from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. – that’s when we will be holding the Annual Celebrate Tolland Festival behind town hall. We will be showcasing local artists and local talent. The day will be filled with entertainment, games, contests, and lots of good food. If you are interested in participating, contact the Recreation Office.

As always, if you have any questions, give us a call at 871-3610 Monday through Thursday, and we hope to see you out and about!
