Somers HS S.A.M. – Tommy Burgess

Tommy Burgess of Somers High School plays ice hockey for the Tri-Town co-op team. He has received a Scholar-Athlete Award and is a member of the National Beta Club.

How do you prepare for a game?
I listen to my music and take a jog around the rink.

What is your favorite moment to date in your high school uniform?
Starting my first varsity game as a freshman.

In what area were you strongest, and in what area did you improve most over your career?
I was strongest in my defensive abilities, and improved in providing leadership on and off the ice.

What is the toughest challenge you have overcome?
To make the varsity team as a freshman, and to be accepted to the National Beta Club.

Who is your favorite athlete, and which athlete do you most model your game after?
My favorite athlete is Dougie Hamilton, but I most model my game after Ray Bourque.

What are your plans after high school?
I plan to attend college.
