Former Baseball Pro Running Training Center

Bryan Barnowski knows a little bit about baseball and is sharing his knowledge with the local youth.

Barnowski, who was drafted by the Red Sox in the 42nd round of the 1998 amateur draft, runs a training facility in South Windsor where kids can train, work on hitting, and improve their fielding.

He offers private lessons, clinics and group sessions. Each instructor on the staff shares his knowledge and experience to improve the fundamental skills, sportsmanship, and work ethic that are essential to succeed and advance to the next level.

In addition to Barnowski, the staff includes other professional players, ensuring that every position is covered.

“The concept that we have right now is based around what I did when I was training as a high school kid,” Barnowski said. “After school, I would run over to East Windsor to work out with my trainer. After there, I would go over to Windsor to work on my hitting. From there I went to the Southwick-Westfield, Massachusetts area to work on my catching. It’s like every single day I had this huge radius to travel. We have everything you need. You come in and get whatever you need done.”

He added that the main goal is getting kids better at baseball and getting them to where they should be.

The facility has a few hundred kids – who range from age three through college age – and some professional athletes who train there.

Barnowski has been teaching and doing lessons since 2008 and has two All-Pro Rebel baseball teams. He said that he hopes to add more baseball teams, add a softball team, and open the facility to athletes who play other sports.

“It’s a fun job,” he said. “I like what we do. It’s for the kids and getting them to where they need to be.”
