Enfield HS S.A.M. – R.J. Wages

R.J. Wages plays football, wrestles and plays baseball at Enfield High School. He recently placed eighth in the 170 lb. weight class, and will serve as a baseball captain. He is an honor roll student who is involved with the Friends of Rachel Club.

How do you prepare for a game/meet?
I usually listen to music, my parents wish me good luck. All these things help me and just getting pumped up and ready for the game with your brothers and your family it helps to get ready with all of them supporting you.

What are you most excited about with regards to the upcoming season?
I am very excited for baseball season; it is right around the corner, and with last year’s season we are in high gear, ready to kick off a great season this year.

What is your most memorable moment to date in your high school uniform?
My most memorable moment was during wrestling. My freshman year, I didn’t win a single match; now I’ve worked so hard these past four years, it all paid off when I went 5-0 at one of the hardest tournaments this year. That was a huge accomplishment for me.

What do you hope to accomplish with your spring team?
As far as the spring season goes, we look forward to making it into the state tournament and maybe even winning the conference trophy.

Who is your favorite college or pro athlete?
My favorite pro athlete would have to be Jordan Burroughs. He is very explosive and takes what he does very seriously.

What are your college plans?
I plan on attending college for physical therapy; as far as where, I am undecided.
