SWHS SAM Daniel Lee

During the season, Daniel always tries to maintain or improve his overall grades for each of his classes. On the mat, he strives to improve his overall win/loss ratio for wrestling, win a match that would help beat a team in the conference that was undefeated, and place in tournaments.

How Daniel prepares before a match: I would get in a good warmup with a teammate and then plug in my music and get focused for my upcoming match.

What Daniel was most excited about with regards to the winter season: Being able to wrestle again and see old and new faces, as well as experiencing many more competitions within and out of the state.

Daniel’s most memorable thus far moment in his high school uniform: Being able to beat another wrestler who was much more experienced and stronger than me. The score of the match was 3-1 with me leading by 2.

Daniel’s biggest accomplishment with his winter team: The biggest accomplishment with the wrestling team was us putting up a really good fight against Glastonbury. We had holes in our lineup, but each person on the team wrestled on a whole new level. Even though we lost the meet, everyone was proud of how they wrestled that night.

Daniel’s favorite pro or college athlete: UFC/MMA Light Heavyweight Champ Jon “Bones” Jones is one of my favorite people to watch and learn from.

Daniel’s college plans: To major in business management – in particular, sports management.
