The Top NCCC Teams

 

Avon

The 20-2 Falcons will battle Bolton tonight in the NCCC Championship game at Windsor Locks High School.  Avon was a perfect 16-0 in the NCCC during the regular season and defeated Windsor Locks and Suffield on the way to the NCCC title game.  The 5-seed Falcons have won 18-straight games and will host 28 Bethel Tuesday at home in the first round of the Class L State Tournament.

 

Ellington and Suffield

14-8 Ellington will play 15-7 Suffield in the NCCC consolation game tonight in Windsor Locks.  The Knights beat Canton and lost to Bolton in the tournament while the Wildcats beat East Windsor and lost to Avon.   17 Ellington will play at 16 Wolcott Monday and 11 Suffield will host 22 Rocky Hill in the first round of the Class M State Tournament.

 

Windsor Locks and Enfield

Locks defeated Enfield in the qualifying round of the NCCC tournament 48-45 before falling to Avon.  Windsor Locks (13-9) earned a 24 seed in the Class M tournament and will visit 9 Tolland on Monday in the opening round.  31 Enfield (9-12) will travel to 2 Cromwell Monday also in first round action.

 

Canton and East Windsor

Both Canton and East Windsor lost in the quarterfinals of the NCCC Tournament.  The Warriors lost to Ellington while the Panthers dropped their game to Suffield.  7 East Windsor (15-6) has a bye in the first round of the Class S State Tournament while 10 Canton (14-7) hosts 23 Terryville Tuesday night in the opening round.

 

The Top CCC Teams

 

Farmington and Tolland

19-2 Farmington defeated 15-6 Tolland in the CCC Tournament’s quarterfinals.  The Indians then went on to lose to E.O. Smith by 3 in the semifinals.  The Eagles are a 9-seed in the Class M State Tournament and will host 24 Windsor Locks in the opening Round Monday.  Farmington is looking to repeat as Class L State Champions as a 2 seed.  The Indians have a first round bye in the Class L Tournament.

 

South Windsor

The Bobcats finished the regular season 18-2, and defeated RHAM in the quarterfinals of the CCC Tournament before losing to Weaver 65-51 in the semifinals.  4 South Windsor hosts 29 Norwalk Monday in the first round of the Class LL State Tournament.

 

Simsbury and Glastonbury

The Trojans and Tomahawks didn’t qualify for the CCC Tournament, but they did earn themselves Class LL State Tournament Berths.  Simsbury (14-6) is a 16 seed and hosts 17 Hall Monday.  27 Glastonbury (9-11) visits 6 Career Monday in opening round action.

 

Rockville, Fermi, Somers

Three area teams came up short of postseason play.  Rockville finished 6-14, Fermi finished 2-18, and Somers finished 5-15.
