Tolland SAM Chelsea Domian

Chelsea has been on the All-Academic team every semester in high school. She has played four years of varsity volleyball and basketball and has done one year of varsity track. Chelsea was All-Conference in basketball as a junior and All-State as a senior.

How Chelsea prepares before a game: I listen to country music. The upbeat music reminds me to have fun playing the game that I love.

What Chelsea is most excited about with regards to the winter season: I’m excited for my senior night coming up. I’m the only senior, but I will enjoy celebrating my last home game with my team and coaches.

Chelsea’s most memorable thus far moment in her high school uniform: During freshman year, I stepped on the court in the state semi-final game. Our entire fan section started chanting, “she’s our freshman!” It helped calm my nerves while I was playing in such a big game. The fans reminded me that yes, I am a freshman, but the coach must have wanted me on the court for a reason.

What Chelsea hopes to accomplish with her winter team: I want my team to do well in the state tournament. My teammates have already helped make my senior year fun and memorable. I’ve been to the semi-finals twice and the finals at Mohegan Sun, but it’d be great to be able to put a banner up my last year in a Tolland uniform.

Chelsea’s favorite pro or college athlete: Kevin Durant or Breanna Stewart

Chelsea’s college plans: I hope to play basketball at Assumption College and to study communication disorders with the goal of becoming a speech therapist.

**I’d like to thank my dad for teaching me everything I know about basketball. He pushed me to be the player I am. I appreciate all the time we spent together, playing a game we both love. I wouldn’t be where I am without him.
