Glastonbury hosts Fairfield Prep in LL opener

The Tomahawks did their job against Simsbury on November 23, defeating the Trojans handily in the snow 41-7. Not knowing their fate with a 10-1 record, the team took Thanksgiving off.

By the time the holiday had ended and the leftovers were in the fridge, Glastonbury had its Class LL championship opponent, No. 7 Fairfield Prep.

The Tomahawks have won 10 straight games and are arguably the hottest team in Class LL, behind 11-0 Newtown, the top seed in the tournament.

Glastonbury faltered in Week One to Southington, another Class LL tournament team, in a 16-9 defensive struggle. They have been perfect since, outscoring opponents 376- 109 in their 10 straight wins.

Fairfield Prep is another potent offense, though the squad faltered in Week Two against St. Joseph and in Week Six against Daniel Hand.

The two will clash at the Turf Field in Glastonbury tomorrow night, a 6:30 p.m. kickoff. The winner will face either Hall or West Haven Saturday at 2 p.m.
