Tolland takes fourth at New Englands, GHS 5th

MANCHESTER, NH — The Tolland girls cross county team added yet another achievement to their list of amazing feats in 2013 with a fourth place finish in the New England cross country meet in Manchester New Hampshire Saturday.

The team collected 120 points, behind only Coe-Brown Academy (NH), Barrington High School (RI) and La Salle Academy (RI). Not far behind their CCC foe was Glastonbury, with 191 points in 5th.

Courtney Ackerley once again led the way for the Eagles, the junior clocked in at a time of 18:30.6, good for a respectable 21st place.

Just three seconds behind Ackerley was teammate Caitlin Swanson.

Others finishing in the top 50 include Simsbury’s Sarah Mattison in 37th, Glastonbury’s Allison McArdle in 28th, Tolland’s Megan Steinhilber in 39th, Tolland’s Katherine Deloreto in 45th and Glastonbury’s Gaelyn Kattman in 46th.
