Bracket Breakdown: Girls Soccer

The Suffield girls soccer team fired off 16 straight wins, and allowed only one goal all season. Their stellar play has made them the favorite in Class LL, and the overall No. 1 seed. After a bye on Monday, the girls will host either Newtown or Newington at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Round 2.

Glastonbury had a similarly successful season, going 15-0-1. They have a first round bye as well, and will host either Fairfield Warde or Manchester in Round 2 Wednesday at 2 p.m.

Also in Class LL, Simsbury travels to Darien a 2 p.m. on Monday, and South Windsor hosts West Haven at 2 p.m.

Class L has another local squad as a favorite, with No. 5 Avon earning a first round bye. They will face either SHA or E.O. Smith Wednesday.

Farmington will host Masuk to open the tournament for the Indians Monday, at 4 p.m., while Fermi will open at Woodstock Monday.

In Class M, No. 2 Tolland gets a bye to Round 2 and will host Granby or Platt tech. No. 20 Enfield will have to play in Round 1 however, looking to knock off Vally Regional.

Ellington is the other Class M contender from the region, with No. 26 Wolcott traveling to face the Knights Monday at 2 p.m.

And finally in Class S, two teams that know each other extremely well will face off for the right to make it to Round 2 as Windsor Locks hosts Somers Monday at 2 p.m.
