Glastonbury proud of Class LL Cross Country title

The girls cross country team represented Glastonbury well this past Saturday, the 26th by winning their Class LL State Meet at Wickham Park.

The girls not only competed against tough competition in the 5K race but also against large gusts of wind. However, they finished strong with sophomore, Allie McArdle leading the team. She placed 7th with a time of 19:34 and next, was speedy freshman, Gaelyn Kattman who placed 8th with a time of 19:41. Both these girls achieved the title of All-State by making top 8 in the race. Kaitlyn Hebert, a junior, had a great finish placing 10th, 19:58 and behind her was senior Kristen Arborio who placed 14th, 20:14.

Then Kaylee Stebbins, a sophomore, achieved 17th place, 20:32. Rounding off the Glastonbury pack was Kat Hastings, a sophomore, 29th with a time of 20:55 and Sara Wilcox, also a sophomore, 77th, 22:15.

The team was thrilled with their LL State Championship victory and is looking forward to the State Open meet next Friday, November 1st at Wickham Park.
