FOOTBALL ROUNDUP: Knights win shootout against Raiders

ELLINGTON — The Ellington-Somers football team not only came from behind to beat Windsor Locks/Suffield/East Granby, 41-26.

The Knights unleashed a bevy of offense in the fourth quarter after trailing 26-20, compiling 21 points in the final frame.

The win equals each team’s record at 4-3, tied just a half game behind Cromweel for the Pequot League North lead.

Glastonbury 41, Manchester 0: The Tomahawks shut out Manchester Friday, thanks once again to a stellar performance by quarterback Jalen Ollie. He went 16-for-25 passing and had 337 yards and five touchdowns through the air.

Ethan Ericson had five catches for 112 yards and four scores to lead the Tomahawks receivers, while Donevin O’Reilly had four catches for 154 yards.

Anthony Anisimov had the other touchdown catch for Glastonbury.

Simsbury 27, South Windsor 6: The Bobcats couldn’t find their offense in another loss Saturday. The win is the second for the Trojans this season.

Wethersfield 40, Fermi 20: The Falcons compiled 20 points but still are seeking an elusive first win in three years after their seventh loss of the year.

East Catholic 46, Rockville 15: The Rams remain winless after a blowout loss to East Catholic Friday night.

Bloomfield 34, Tolland 7: The Eagles couldn’t built off a big win last week, falling to Bloomfield by a large margin Friday.

Nonnewaug 34, Stafford/East Windsor 16: The Bulldogs coudn’t figure out Nonneqaut Friday, falling convincingly to 1-6 on the year.

Farmington 35, Bristol Central 0: The Indians remain perfect with a shutout over Bristol Central this weekend.

Avon 38, Granby 19: The Falcons got an impressive win over Granby Saturday evening under the lights on senior night.

Gilbert/NW Regional 28, Canton 15: The Warriors saw their playoff hopes squashed by Gilbert Saturday afternoon, falling to 4-2 on the season with their bye upcoming.
