Glastonbury girls shutout Berlin in CCC quarters

“The girls were very excited,” Glastonbury head coach Joe Finocchiaro said. “Berlin did a great job, they have anew coach and it was a nice contest.”

“We had a good combination up there since we put Eren Cosgel up there as a center forward,”  Finocchiaro said of his offensive arsenal. “We also have good speed there, and we do a nice job of giving trouble to the other teams.”

After the halftime break, Sydney Keane added some insurance off a Taylor Walker assist to up the lead to 3-0 over the Redcoats.

“Berlin has had a great season,” the coach said of his opponent, 10-6-1 Berlin. “All year we have kept track of them and they had double digit wins, we had no reason to go lightly on them.”

Next on the docket for the Tomahawks is Middletown and the 14-win squad awaits Glastonbury in Monday’s CCC semifinals, likely to be held in Southington.
