FOOTBALL ROUNDUP: Tomahawks offense explodes

The Tomahawks showed off all its offensive might in a 56-26 win over East Hartford Friday night, helping Glastonbury to improve to 6-1, and climb into the playoff bracket in Class LL.

Cromwell 27, Windsor Locks/Suffield/East Granby 13: After a 4-1 start to the season the Raiders were unable to keep it going, dropping by two touchdowns to Cromwell Friday night.

Tolland 19, Rockville 0: The Eagles earned their first win of the year over the Ram, with Devin Kokoszka scoring two touchdowns and MJ Vanderpool adding one of his own.

Vanderpool ran for 134 yards on 14 carried on a day that saw the Eagles gain 253 yards on the ground.

Defensively Ben Houghton had six tackles to lead the way.

Newington 52, South Windsor 36: The Bobcats posted 36 points, but it wasn’t enough to slow down the Indians in a tough loss for South Windsor, which remains winless.

Coventry/Windham Tech/Bolton 49, Stafford/East Windsor 14: The Bulldogs couldn’t continue their winning ways, dropping to 2-4 with a loss Saturday.

Ellington/Somers 28, SMSA/University 6: The Knights got back to the .500 mark with a convincing win over SMSA/University Thursday.

New Britain 14, Simsbury 7 (OT): The Trojans fell to the Hurricanes in an overtime heart-breaker Friday night in a key CCC West Division I  battle.

Enfield 13, Hyde Leadership 9: The Raiders got a big win over Hyde Saturday afternoon.
