Windsor Locks Hall of Fame to induct 7 new members

Windsor Locks Athletic Hall of Fame announces its 2013 Class.

Paul Ciarcia an outstanding volunteer who revived soccer in Windsor Locks.

Bill Lash (68) 3 sport athlete drafted by the Phillies. He played 3 years in their minor league organization as an outfielder.

Red Leary(deceased) outstanding football player at Loomis. He continue to play semi-pro on an undefeated team in New England.

Bob Nussbaum(70) Outstanding high jumper,state champion.He continued at CCSU reaching 6’6” before an injury forced him to start .

Brian McKeown head coach for 17 years for varsity girls basketball for Windsor Locks High school. In 1986 his team won the NCCC championship.

Steve Michaelwicz(78) Three-sport athlete, outstanding football player. He played at UConn and signed as a free agent with the Seattle Seahawks before an injury forced him to retire before the regular season began.

Trina Quagliaroli(89) was an outstanding hurdler, in 50meters, 100 meters, and 300 meters. She was state champion in 300meters.

The induction will take place on Friday, November 29, 7p.m at the Sheraton Bradley.

Tickets cost $40 and tickets maybe picked up at Park and Rec Office 50 Church Street. For Information call 627-1420.
