Boys Soccer Breakdown: Week 3

Local teams are still dominating coaches polls, as Suffield and Glastonbury have been voted No. 1 in the small and large school polls, respectively.

Suffield is a perfect 7-0 and received 11 first place votes for the top team in Class M and S. The Wildcats got a big boost with a 3-1 win over Windsor Locks last week, a NCCC rival.

The Wildcats also beat East Windsor, 3-0 and SMSA, 7-0.

Also in the same poll, Somers drops from No. 3 to No 7 after a 1-0 loss to East Windsor and Tolland inches onto the poll for the first time boasting a 6-1 mark through Monday after wins over Hartford Public and Fermi last week.

For the Class LL/L classification, the Glastonbury Tomahawks move from No. 2 to the top spot with 10 first place votes and a 6-0-1 record.

The ascent to the top is due in part to dominating wins last week over South Windsor (3-0) and Manchester (7-0).

Another local school, Farmington, got a first place vote but still fell from No. 1 last week to No. 4. The Indians suffered their first loss of the year, 1-0 to New Britain last Tuesday but bounced back with a 2-0 win over Hall.

Avon also received seven votes from coaches and is 5-1.
