Girls Soccer Breakdown: Week 3

With the season in full-swing, a few local teams remain unbeaten, as Glastonbury (6-0-1) and Suffield (7-0) continue to dominate in their respective conferences.

In the CCC, Glastonbury Earned wins over South Windsor and Manchester last week. They face 4-2-1 Wethersfield Tuesday and 5-0-2 Northwest Catholic on Friday, two big games for the LL powerhouse.

Suffield won three times last week by a combined total of 20-0. The squad has perhaps its toughest test of the season Tuesday against Somers, who is fresh off a 6-0 win over East Windsor.

Somers recently drew a tie against Windsor Locks (6-0-1), another talented team that looks to catch the Wildcats atop the NCCC.

Avon is just one game behind Suffield at 6-1, and has Canton and SMSA this week. The Falcons defeated Somers and Ellington thus far, two signature wins.

Back in the CCC, Tolland, 5-0-2, and Farmington are two contenders reaching for Glastonbury atop the conference.

Tolland dominated last week, with a 7-0 win over Hartford Public and 5-0 win over Fermi.

Farmington faces Simsbury under the lights Tuesday and East Catholic Friday. The Indians fell in a heartbreaker, 2-1 in overtime to Hall Friday.
