FOOTBALL ROUNDUP: Knights fall at home

ELLINGTON — Ellington-Somers had its hands full with Cromwell, and nearly was able to fight its way back, but a few bad bounces and mistakes cost the team its second loss, 20-8 Saturday afternoon.

Farmington 42, Maloney 12: The Indians improved to a perfect 3-0 thanks to a high-powered run game led by senior Ivan Guadalupe.

Berlin 41, Tolland 6: The Eagles were unable to pencil in their first win against Class M powerhouse Berlin and fell to 0-3.

Morgan 43, Windsor Locks/Suffield/East Granby 6: The Raiders fell back to earth after their 2-0 start, falling to a talented Morgan at home.

Enfield 42, Stafford/East Windsor 7: The Raiders pulled out the decisive victory over the Bulldogs to put themselves in the hunt for a playoff spot early in the season with a winning record.

Bulkeley 26, Fermi 21: The Falcons came close to earning a big win over Bulkeley, but were unable to get over the hump, faltering in the one-touchdown loss.

Southington 38, Simsbury 0: The Trojans were unable to get on the board against the Blue Knights, getting shutout for another loss.
