Student Athlete of the Month: Avon’s Grant

Anna is has such a long list of accomplishments, you would forget she was a high school senior. She is in the top 5% of her class at Avon High. is in the National Honor Society, was awarded Summa Cum Laude for the National Latin Exam twice, earned the highest award for the National Greek Exam, won second place in the Classical Association of New England writing contest, and won the Holy Cross Book Prize. She’s also a three time NCCC Scholar Athlete for both of her sports, and was the Golf Club of Avon’s Junior Player of the year in 2012.
How Anna prepares: I listen to music with my team to get pumped up.

Anna’s most memorable moment as a Falcon: Going to the state semiFinals last season.
Why Anna is excited for the 2013 season: I am always grateful to be a part of a successful program.  I am most excited about the chance to play with and learn from a great group of girls who are not only my teammates but also my close friends. Our coach emphasizes that the team is more important than any individual and we have really developed that spirit over our 4 years together. This is also what I will miss most when my senior year ends.

Anna’s college plans: I hope to attend a competitive four-year college or university and pursue a major in Classics. I would love to be involved in sports at the club or intramural level.
