Locals to compete in Vie for the Kids

On October 5 in the Ethel Walker Woods in Simsbury, runners will not only race for personal bests and bragging rights, they will also be raising money to help fight cancer at The Connecticut Children’s Medical Center.

Vie for the Kids is the premier fundraising effort for the Cancer and Blood Disorders Clinical Trials Program at Connecticut Children’s Medical Center. The day features a cross-country trail run/walk and a dinner reception. Since its inception, vie for the kids has raised more than $510,000 for the Cancer and Blood Disorders Clinical Trials Program.

The Sports Department and Farmington’s Visionary Wealth Management will sponsor two young local runners in the race. Check back in the next edition of the Farmington Valley edition for photos and full coverage from the event.
